Jólakötturinn
Jólakötturinn (The Icelandic Yule Cat) was handmade from old and damaged children’s clothes collected by the Red Cross in Iceland.
Old stories tell of the Yule Cat, a gigantic, evil cat that eats all children who do not get a new piece of clothing before Christmas, making old children’s clothes a tempting material to use for the project.
Rammagerðin commissions one designer/artist per year to embody the Icelandic Christmas Cat in a limited edition for their store in Reykjavík.

Commissioned by Rammagerðin,
